C. Ellen Arntson is a volunteer Market Manager for Lake City Thursday Market for the past three years. She is friendly, efficient and goal oriented. Ellen was educated at the University of Minnesota and received an Associate Degree in Psychology, is an LPN, and has a Bachelor's degree in Hospital Medical Management. She has more than 20 years of management experience and is a great asset to our team.
Susan Draves, a Lake City resident and big supporter of local foods, currently works at the University of Minnesota Extension as a SE Regional Coordinator in health and nutrition programming, sits on the board of directors for the MN Farmers Market Association (MFMA), and is the lead of the SE Regional Sustainable Development Partnerships (SE RSDP) Ag and Food Systems workgroup. She's been on the Lake City Market by the Lake planning committee for the last three years, is former manager of the Red Wing Farmers Market, and assisted in implementing the Red Wing and Lake City Farmers Market SNAP EBT/market bucks programs. Susan has also been a Lake City and Rochester Farmers Market vendor, ran a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program and owned/operated a health food store in Lake City.
Paul works and lives on the Lake City Catholic Worker farm in Lake City, raising pigs, chickens, and organic vegetables with his passion being humanely raised antibiotic-free animals. He is involved with LSP (Land Stewardship Project) mentorship program, which helps him improve the health of his livestock and promotes Holistic Herd Health. Paul's farm is a community farm, which welcomes visitors to cooperatively learn practical skills and enjoy real food in community.
John has been a vendor at the Lake City Thursday Market since its inception more than 20 years ago. He is a board member and currently acts as treasurer. John operates Lake Pepin Winery 4 miles north of Lake City along hwy. 61 as well as Great River Vineyard and Nursery selling table grapes, raspberries, plums, apples and other fruits as well as locally grown jams and jellies . He also has great fun selling locally grown, fresh picked, cooked on site, sweet corn by the ear during the market. John is a current and charter member of the Minnesota Grape Growers Association and remains a dedicated life member to the present time. John loves farmers markets in general and can be found most Thursday evenings selling sweet corn and table grapes to anyone who comes by.
